Volunteering with AgeWell
We have the following volunteering opportunities available for people who would like to help with the AgeWell project:
Researcher
We are looking for volunteers to research materials that are of interest to the mid-life age group (50-65 years old) for the AgeWell Project.
Working with the AgeWell Development and Outreach Worker, your role will be to:
- Research information about activities, events, etc that are happening in the local area.
- Research articles and health information relevant to the specified age group (Employment, Health, Caring for someone, learning in later life etc).
- Collate information into Fact Sheets.
- Write summaries about information which will be placed on to the internet, providing links to relevant websites.
We are looking for people with the following qualities and skills:
- Interest in issues affecting people in mid-life
- Ability to carry out searches on the internet
- Ability to write a summary about an article
- Willing to abide by Age Concern Hackney's Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Confidentiality Policies.
Age Concern Hackney staff will be able to help with putting information collected onto the Internet.
Focus Group Assistant
We are looking for volunteers to help set up AgeWell Focus Group meetings
Working with the AgeWell Development and Outreach Worker, your role will be to:
- Buy sandwiches, fruit and other refreshments for meetings
- Present refreshments attractively
- Prepare meeting room for meetings
- Welcome participants as they arrive, and keep a register of participants
- Collect monitoring details of participants
- Assist participants in completing feed-back forms, if they need help
- Help with the clearing up and tidying of meeting room, once the meeting has ended
- Try to help and assist participants with any practical issues relating to the meeting
We are looking for people with the following qualities and skills:
- Interest in working with the AgeWell Project
- Good organisational skills
- Friendly, personable and polite manner
- Reliability and Punctuality
- Willing to abide by Age Concern Hackney's Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Confidentiality Policies.
